Getting Started
Navigating the DirectoryThe directory is split up into five categories; Optical Illusions, Brain Training, Logic and Cognitive Puzzles, Brain Deceptions and Miscellaneous Matters. Each category is regularly updated with 'official' and your own content (see Upload Content). Feel free to browse as much as you like; there is a lot to entertain and inspire. Be sure to rate too, and give your opinion in the respectable discussion. |
Be Part of It!Upload your Own ContentFound a brilliant optical illusion? Or an extremely clever logic puzzle. Get involved. Regardless of copyright issues (we, at Darren Beige handle all the legal issues), submit it to us, and we'll handle all the issues, fix spelling and grammar, and if it passes review, the article will be posted here for all to see.
Discuss and DebateHaven't got anything to share? Well you do; your opinion. Want to talk to others about the workings of a particular optical illusion or simply want to discuss other brain and mind deceptions? Hop over to the forum. |
Our brain can sometimes interpret confusing information and images (usually made up of colour, lines and irregular shapes) incorrectly, and produce unusual results. Some artists take advantage of this supposed 'disadvantage' and create some stunning and varied pieces.
Optical Illusions
Specific activities to keep your brain stimulated, and can help improve your focus and concentration. This form of brain activity was made popular by Nintendo's Brain Training series for the DS; oddly however, even though it could be considered 'work', most of the activities are also quite fun to do.
Brain Training
Cleverly devised puzzles to confuse the mind. Logic puzzles involve the arrangement of shapes, and are generally based on 'everyday' activities. Cognitive puzzles are slightly more cryptic, and usually involve the use of 'thinking traps' to confuse the reader.
Logic and Cognitive Puzzles
The mind is bombarded with visuals and sound. Your consciousness has to repeatedly fit all this data together and make sense of it. Unless a major change occurs to grab your attention, your brain will not interpret your surroundings correctly. Interested? This is the category for you.
Brain Deceptions
Anything that doesn't fit into the above categories is filed here. It however is not a catch all 'Off Topic'. There is a place on the forum for that, but here is strictly mind related business, for example, 'how to make cool sites' is not allowed, but 'magic' is.
